Message Now, those of you that know me know that last september I burnt a valve by trying something that I knew was stupid. I'm not going to get into details because if I start to rehash what happened I will start to cry.

At first I was just going to fix the valve and put my motor back together, but that didn't happen. I started upgrading, upgrading and upgrading. I finally finished my motor a few months ago and after breaking it in I went to the dyno and then to the track.

My car is a TT with a stock bottom end. Stock rods, stock pistons, stock everything except I had the bottom end balanced and I used clevite bearing. The heads are stock, with stock cams and valve train. There is no NOS, and only bolt on parts. I built this car to run at the track. I wanted to run mid 11's with no NOS and high tens with the spray. I'm going for a stock engine 10 second car. The car is automatic with a level 10 tranny and billet converter

Yes it can be done, the puerto ricans have done it many times.

So I go to the dyno. I expected to run about 500 rwhp, but I never hit my mark. I stopped turning up the boost before that, because I wanted to make sure I was going home with a running car, not a 500hp blown motor. I ended up dynoing 460 rwhp and I believe about 443 ftlbs of torque. At first I was dissappointed but after talking to the dyno guy I learned a lot about the difference between automatics and manual dyno runs. This guys is a very good supra builder and he told me that the same car that is manual can drop 120+ rwhp (he showed me many dyno charts to prove this, he had a 600+rwhp tt supra drop to 480 something when they switched that car over to an auto, without any other changes.) After hearing that I was not so dissapointed. He told me that if my car was manual it would be easily 520rwhp, not to mention the fact that there are at least 5-7 more lbs of boost in my turbos.

Now that I got over being dissappointed I decided to go to the track wednesday night. I expected to run mid 11's but again I was dissappointed. I ended up running 11.90s-12.00s but get this @122mph. those are high ten to low eleven mphs. I expect to run 11.3 with just boost. Now the reason why. I said that I had a level ten converter, but I didn't say that it was the converter from my stock turbos. The stall was way to low and I was unable to cut a good 60ft. I was running like 2.2-2.3's. very bad, but my turbos were just unable to spool with such a low stall. I was coming out of the hole like a dog, but after the 60ft when the boost kicked in, look out it took off like a bat out of hell.

If I can get a 1.8 60ft then I am looking at a 11.3-11.4 w/o nos, w/o cams, and without a built motor.
